Curtainwise was set up in 1988 by Mrs Mary McKenzie. Initially working from home Mary, a dress maker to trade has had a lifelong interest in the world of textiles. Her soft furnishings journey then progressed as her reputation grew, and with the support of her husband Wullie, Curtainwise was established.
With the increase in demand for bespoke made to measure curtains, Roman Blinds, Pelmets etc the business soon had to relocate to a bigger premises. Expanding year after year Mary’s two sons William and Iain joined the business and are now one of Cumnock’s highest employers, with over 40 staff, all of which are very highly skilled.
